Firmware is basically the Operating System for the FlexWATCH much the same way that you use Windows, MacOS, or Unix as the Operating System on your computer. The firmware can be upgraded as the manufacturer writes new code to fix bugs or implement new features.
.:Risks of Firmware Update
Updating the firmware can be dangerous! When updating the firmware the operating system is getting erased and re-written. If something goes wrong during any part of the upgrade process (computer crash, power failure, power spike or dip, bad luck, etc.) or you accidentally program the wrong firmware, the FlexWATCH could become unusable!
Please see the "release notes" on bug fixes and new features. It is recommeded to upgrade BOTH web page and firmware together.
